German builder, Nobiskrug, is celebrating its 115th anniversary.

German builder, Nobiskrug, is celebrating its 115th anniversary. Founded in 1905, the company originally built commercial vessels such as cargo boats, training ships, icebreakers, support vessels and ferries. The year 2000 was a turning point for the yard when it delivered its first superyacht— the 302-foot (92-meter)Tatoosh. Since then, Nobiskrug has delivered such award winning yachts as the 223-foot (68-meter) Sycara the Philippe Starck 469-foot (143-meter) sailing yacht A, and the innovative 262-foot (80-meter) Artefact.

On May 30th, Nobiskrug’s latest 203-foot (62-meter) Project 794 came into view as the superyacht was moved from the German builder’s Kiel shipyard into the superyacht hall at its Rendsburg facility. The yacht’s journey between the two shipyards started from Kiel Fjord with a passage through the locks, into the Kiel Canal continuing to Rendsburg, reaching the shipyard in the early afternoon.

Following the keel-laying in June last year, the construction of all sections up to assembly of the complete hull took place in the advanced shipbuilding facilities of the yard in Kiel. The superyacht will be outfitted in Nobiskrug’s modern climate controlled superyacht hall in Rendsburg.
