The Baltic 142 eco-friendly sailing yacht CANOVA left for global cruising, following her sea trials and launch earlier in 2019. The global cruising will be a great opportunity for the yacht to take advantage of the many advanced and innovative design features.

Canova is a powerful, fast and easy to handle a sailing yacht, designed with reduced environmental impact in mind, with reduced emissions through hydro-generation and electric propulsion. CANOVA was styled by Lucio Micheletti and her main feature is the superstructure’s long hard-top Bimini, which spreads from the deck saloon aft over the large guest cockpit and includes touch button top downside windows, sliding doors, ‘mood’ effect dimmable glass and the capability to take the 24-tonne load of the mainsheet track.

Amongst the main priorities for the Owner was the safety and comfort, for both the guests and the crew. As such, a Dynamic Stability System foil has been installed, reducing heel and dampening pitching motion in a seaway.

“I am very pleased to see that heel angle can already be reduced by 8 degrees in trials and there is plenty more fine-tuning to come when we understand more about how to trim the yacht in conjunction with the foil,” said Canova’s owner. “The reduction in pitching motion is amazing. Any performance increase in terms of speed will be a bonus,” he added.

Canova is also equipped with an electric propulsion system, a hydrogenation system feeding a large Lithium-ion battery bank, which allows the yacht to run in silent mode with all hotel systems running fo cup to nine hours.

Her 7m tender features built-in tanks, in order to for fuel hankering to be also possible in remote locations.
